Complete bio: Out of California, Girl with a Boy Name is an indie-pop band with an adventurous heart. They blur the line between stadium-sized, synth-pop and cinematic music. Kyle Abbott, the girl in Girl with a Boy Name, is the band's lead vocalist and lyricist. She brings her theater roots and pop heart to the stage, putting on an enthralling, dynamic show. Anuj Arora plays guitar, bringing his Indian Classical and Prog Rock perspective. Vincent Bumgarner, classically trained, but a terrible student, adds melodies that haunt his addled brain, usually on keys. Dan Erlewine plays bass with Rock and Roll roots, and Soliheen Garraway adds his Hip Hop production and beats brain.

Their debut album The Time We Need was written, recorded, and mixed in their personal studios and mastered by Dave Cooley at Elysian Masters.

We have a small, dedicated following in The Bay. We promote through the usual social media, local media like Do the Bay, and through word of mouth within some personal music circles.
Instagram is our primary social media and for our Reels we have a ~90% view to follower ratio. Even though our following is small, we’re making content they love.
We play a vibey, cinematic show with some upbeat tunes mixed in. 5-piece band, female front woman. Our fanbase likes to request covers and we might mix in one or two to round out our set.
We're happy to open, fill a middle spot or close - whatever you need to fill out a lineup.
We run backing tracks, click, and in-ear monitors, and the tracks and click sends come from the keyboardist.
We’ll need 5 monitor mixes and would optionally like 3 wedges with a general mix on stage, if they’re available.
Our sound fits well with bands like Gloomy June, Youth, Dear Boy, the Arkells, Oh Daughter, Phoebe Bridgers, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Metric
